Chemical composition and physical properties The inspection of steel strands

Inspection of steel strands‘ chemical composition and physical properties

1. Chemical composition analysis

(1) The chemical composition of steel strands is generally not specified. Because the wire rods of various specifications and grades used for the production of steel wires have been tested for chemical composition and conform to national standards.

(2) The weight of the zinc layer must be carried by the single wire of the galvanized steel strand.such as GB1200-88 and YB/T5004-93 regulations for galvanized monofilament with a diameter of 1.00mm. The test method is carried out according to GB2973-91.

Physical performance inspection

(1) mechanical characteristics

The mechanical properties of galvanized steel strand and aluminum-clad steel strand are divided into two parts, namely: a, the mechanical properties of the steel wire in the strand. The main indicators are: tensile strength, elongation, 360 torsion times, and b, mechanical properties of steel strands. The main indicator is the comprehensive breaking force. The above two parts should meet the values specified in GB1200-88, YB/T5400-93, YB/T123-1997, and YB/T124-1997.

The mechanical properties of prestressed concrete strands are: maximum load, elongation, yield load, and relaxation rate. The test results should conform to the values specified in GB/T5224-1995.

3. The tensile test is carried out according to GB228-87 (metal tensile test method); the torsion test is carried out according to GB239-84 (metal material torsional test method). The relaxation test is carried out according to GB10120-88 (metal stress relaxation test method).

(2) Electrical properties: The aluminum-clad steel strand’s 20°C DC resistance as a wire should be tested. The test results shall conform to the values specified in GB/T124-1997.
